Plot Overview

The episode centers on Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Tormund Giantsbane (Kristofer Hivju) as they arrive at the wildling settlement of Hardhome to persuade the Free Folk to join forces with the Night's Watch against the looming threat of the White Walkers. Initially met with skepticism, they manage to convince a portion of the wildlings, including the chieftainess Karsi (Birgitte Hjort Sørensen), to cooperate.

However, their efforts are abruptly disrupted when the settlement is attacked by an overwhelming force of wights and White Walkers. In the ensuing chaos, Jon engages in a fierce battle with a White Walker, ultimately discovering that his Valyrian steel sword can destroy these formidable foes. Despite their valiant efforts, many wildlings perish, and the survivors, including Jon and Tormund, narrowly escape by sea. The episode concludes with the Night King (Richard Brake) ominously raising the dead, adding them to his ever-growing army.
