Money Has Four Legs

Money Has Four Legs (2020)

Directed by Maung Sun

SCENE 1: THE BANKRUPT CREATIVE

VISUAL:
A cluttered director’s den: storyboards plaster the walls, a broken camera lies on the floor. Wai Bhone (Okkar Dat Khe) sits slumped, staring at an empty wallet.

SFX:
The ticking of a clock, distant street hawkers calling.

WAI BHONE (V.O.):

“They said making movies was art… but it’s costing me everything.”

SCENE 2: CENSORSHIP BOARD DRAMA

VISUAL:
A sterile office bathed in fluorescent light. Three stern board members cross out pages of Wai’s script with red ink. Papers flutter to the floor.

LEAD CENSOR (cold):

“Remove all protest scenes. No mention of banks.”
WAI (pleading):
“But that’s the heart of the story!”

SCENE 3: CAST CHAOS

VISUAL:
On a makeshift street set, actors arrive late, forget lines, and argue over pay. Wai rubs his temples, helpless as the assistant director yells into a megaphone.

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR:

“We’re running out of daylight—and budget!”

SCENE 4: THE HEIST SOLUTION

VISUAL:
Night. Wai, clad in a trench coat, kneels beside a bank vault. He clutches a roll of old banknotes.

WAI (whisper):

“If the bank won’t fund my film… I’ll fund it myself.”

(He glances up as security lights snap on.)
