Joy (whispering, tense): “Why won’t my phone work? Did they cut the signal on purpose?”

Melissa retrieves a ceremonial dagger from a drawer, eyeing the front door:
Melissa (voice trembling): “We should hide… no one will find us in the dark.”

Suddenly, Katie flinches at the sound of heavy breathing. She turns to see Beka standing motionless, tears streaming down behind her blank mask.
Katie (screaming): “Beka?! You’re alive… please talk to me!”
